Robert was registered as WARN. The addition of the e to the end of the
name, possibly as a result of a clerical
error somewhere, probably occurred sometime in the 1870 s as all his children
were registered as WARNE This kind of error was common as many people,
in those days, couldn't read or write so would not notice any error. Robert was a case in point as he "Made his
mark" on his marriage certificate.

Bob worked as a
painter and decorator for many years. He
was in the Royal Artillery during the first world war
and served in

world war, he
worked at Wellworthy's as an engineer.
His first Wife, Daisy, died of cancer during the war and he raised
the four children himself.
He met Gladys, his second
wife whilst he was at Wellworthy's and they married in 1946. Patrick came along a few years later.
Bob was a visionary
sort of chap with lots of foresight. A
very well liked and loved Father Grandfather and Father-in-law.

toolmaker in Christchurch from the age of 16.
He has remained with his first employers ever since. As well as his
manual skills, Pat
is a keen and expert gardener. He could truly be said to have "Green fingers"

working and social life.

Cyril as he was known, was trained as an
Electrician before WWII. He joined the
Territorial Army and served with the colours for a while but was
eventually given a medical discharge.
He later turned to
mechanical engineering and opened his own business as a car mechanic. He was interested in motor racing and started
racing pre-war
His prowess came to
the attention of Lord Montague of Beaulieu who was just starting up his
world famous

on the estate but after a few years he emigrated to

Pennsylvania where he worked as an engineer.
He died there in 1994.

Betty met Clem when
she was in the Women’s Land Army in the second world war.
They married and she
went to join Clem in New Brunswick, Canada just after the end of the war. She
is now very active in her Church, giving inspirational talks in various
Churches in the locality and nationally.
She also works as a
volunteer in the Centenary Hospital and she
raises substantial sums of money from the sales of her beautiful
hand-knitted figures. She has passed on thousands of dollars from these sales, some of the knitted
figures from patterns she has designed herself.

For the last few years
of her life her arthritis played a malicious part in her life and she suffered agonising
pain and discomfort for the last two years.
The family though devastated at her death, welcomed the fact that she would now
be free from pain.
The family is very
close and she & Geoff had four Daughters altogether. All four are very caring people and keep in
close touch with Geoff.

Notes for GEOFFREY JOHN WILLIAM HUNT:
Geoff was educated at Tiffin's School,
Kingston upon Thames from 1939 to 1944.
He took a technical School Certificate and worked as an engineer after
leaving school.
After Naval service
from 1945 to 1948, he returned to engineering but soon realised it was no
longer what he wanted to do so in 1949 he left and trained as a Nurse at the
West Middlesex Hospital where he met and married Mollie. He qualified as an S R N in 1952.

9. CLIFFORD ALLAN JOHN WARNE was born in
Notes for CLIFFORD ALLAN JOHN WARNE:
Clifford was educated
in Christchurch. He became apprenticed
as an electrician and on completion of his indentures,
he was called up into the army.
On his demobilization,
he joined the Merchant Navy for a few years seeing much of the world.
He married Edna in
1954 and they lived for a while at Holmesley in the New Forest during which
time he worked on the construction of the Fawley Oil Refinery near
Southampton. He also spent some time
working as engineer in charge of a small power station in Wales.
Soon after that the family emigrated to
Clifford died after a painful illness on May 4th 2006. He was cremated and his ashes were spread to join those of his brother Cyril and his sister Mollie on June 18th - appropriately father's day - on June 18th 2006.
40 family members from Canada and the United Kingdom joined in saying farewell to Cliff at Hengistbury Head near his home town of Christchurch, Dorset.

Edna was born and
brought up in Aberdare, Wales.
After she and Cliff
emigrated, she had the rest of her family and then became a Hospital
Administrator and worked at that for many years until she retired. She enjoys
cooking and is a first class homemaker.
She spends much time with her grandchildren and loves her garden. She
too enjoys travel and her Grandchildren.
